George was born and raised in Truro, Nova Scotia, attended Dalhousie University graduating with Bachelor of Commerce. He joined Price Waterhouse in Montreal obtaining the designation of Chartered Accountant. He practiced accountancy in Quebec, Alberta and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. Upon return to Canada completed all programs relating to Canadian Securities Course and in 2001 obtained the designation of FMA and was admitted as a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute. In 2012, after working in the investment industry for 15 years with a bank owned investment firm, George decided to move out on his own with a business partner. In 2023, George joined the team at EB wealth.

George is community minded having been an active member for many years in Rotary International, serving as President of the Rotary Club of Nassau and of Rotary Club of Halifax Northwest. His favorite past time is relaxing with his wife Sandra and daughter Amanda at the family cottage on the Northumberland Strait. His son Geoffrey is working and living in Alberta. He also enjoys walking, reading, watching sports and good movies.
